- Where do files go?
- Halftone, effects, and mockup work stays in your browser. Gang sheet uploads and the 300 DPI print PNG are stored by the DotSmith server for that session.
- Which film widths can the gang sheet use?
- 12, 13, 22, and 24 inches, plus the original 11.8 inch width. Length runs from 12 to 240 inches in 1 inch steps.
- Does Auto Nest rotate artwork?
- Yes. It packs rectangles with a 0° or 90° turn, keeps the gap and margin, and leaves anything that does not fit where it was.
- What does the halftone export contain?
- A transparent PNG. Export PNG is the ink plate. Underbase PNG is the smaller white plate. The file’s pHYs chunk records the DPI, 300 when the long side fits in 4800 pixels.
- Are the mockups photographs of branded blanks?
- The catalog draws an original silhouette for each style. Each colorway can later point at a supplier photo, such as a SanMar image, without changing the editor.
